Reading time: 1 minute
For the past decade, EMA partner CURRENTS New Media has been expanding art enthusiasts’ idea of Santa Fe into an innovative emerging media arts destination. CURRENTS’ month-long summer festival, coming up on its 10th year, has been a staple of introducing art using innovative technologies to the community in an accessible, interactive environment.
In preparation for their 2019 festival, CURRENTS New Media has released its open call for artist submissions. This year’s categories include interactive environments, the festival’s entrance design, installations (both interactive and non-interactive), outdoor installations and projections, virtual/augmented/mixed reality environments, robotics, multimedia performances, digitally generated objects (i.e. 3D printing), single channel video, experimental documentary, and more.
CURRENTS New Media Festival will take place on June 7 – 23, 2019. Artists are welcome to submit multiple entries for the nominal submission fee of $20. The deadline for submissions is November 5, 2018. Visit Currents’ website for the submission guidelines and application: www.currentsnewmedia.org/guidelines-2019.
We look forward to interacting with these artists’ work during Emerging Media Month 2019. Follow EMA’s Facebook and Instagram for more news and updates.
