Axle Contemporary, housed in the back of a custom retrofitted 1970 aluminum stepvan, presents the premiere installation of a multi-sensory perceptual ride: Stephen Auger’s Iris. Merging rhythmic sound, pulsating light, and cymatic resonance, inducing somatic experience beyond the boundaries of the intellectual mind, Iris invites participants inside a small space where they are introduced to both sound and light frequencies, experienced with closed eyes or a translucent eye mask, which induce the visualizations. It invites participants into the infinite universe that lies within the human brain.
